Thomas H. Amburgey (Burga)

Thomas H. Amburgy was born on Carr Creek in Letcher County, Kentucky. He was the son of Alfred Ambergy and Mary Hagins.

He enlisted with his father in Co A of the 13th Kentucky Cavalry on September 2, 1862 in Whitesburg. His brother, Robert E. Amburgey, enlisted in the Union.

After the war he was in Prestonsburg, Floyd County. He married Nancy L Wheatley on October 12, 1865. Thomas and Nancy had seven children
