Name: The name is English meaning dweller at the deep hollow or valley.

History:  Jamestown John Combs came to the settlement of Jamestown Virginia in 1619 on the Ship Merrigold. His descendents came in to Kentucky after the Revolutionary War and settled around Perry County. Many of our releatives married into the Combs line.
