The family was of Edinburg, Scotland, JEREMIAH PATRICK (and wife Sarah) "Sally" Blair, d/o Bryce Blair whose mother was Margaret (Bryce) Blair in auld Ireland JOHN PATRICK, WILLIAM PATRICK ** 873 {SON OF JEREMIAH PATRICK) From the Court of Montgomery County, VIRGINIA AUGUST 5, 1779 "JEREMIAH PATRICK was brought before the Court charged with being an enemy to this Country and acting under Commission from the King of Great Britain...Witnesses were sworn and examined and the party heard in his defense..The Court were of the opinion that he is not guilty of the sd. charge, and that he is acquitted, but that he be bound to his good behavior for twelve months and a day himself in the sum of One thousand pounds , and two securities in the sum of five hundred pounds each. Whereupon the said JEREMIAH Patrick acknowledged himself indebted to the Commonwealth in the sum of One thousand pounds current money of VIRGINIA, and HUGH Patrick and JOHN Harris in the sum of five hundred (pounds) each to be levied of their respective Lands and Chattels, and to the sd. Commonwealth rendered yet upon condition Sc Sc..........Ordered that everything taken from JEREMIAH Patrick when he was a prisoner by Captain Stephens, or since his confinement, be restored to him again he being acquitted of the Charge alleged against him."....{end of page 723...Patrick} JAMES PATRICK listed on p 781, but not there.
