Private Alfred York
47th Kentucky Volunteer Mounted Rifles,
1845-

Alfred York was born in Kentucky in about 1845, He enrolled in the 47th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry on July 3rd and was mustered at Irvine on October 5,1863 in Company A. His records list him as aged 18. He was present for all musters, and was mustered out as a private in Lexington on December 26, 1864, receiving $60.64 on his last payday.

The same day that Alfred mustered, there was also a David H. York (aged 2?, and William York (aged 35) who mustered with Company A. These are likely his relatives, and his is likely a descendant of Jeremiah and Lea Clark York of Clay County.

Zetta's cousin?
